Abstract
Currently, Research and development of tactile displays as data presentation devices using the tactile sense are being advanced. However, there is a problem that the physical property of the surface presented by the display can't be directly measured because the surface is virtual. We propose a new evaluation method by measuring and quantifying the tactile sensation using tactile samples with each physical property changed independently. Their samples have differences in surface shape, stiffness or moistness. In this work, we made tactile samples made of PDMS. The polymerization ratio of base resin and hardener ware changed as parameters. Thus, we succeeded to express differences in hardness. We also made tactile samples that have difference in wettability. Difference in wettability was expressed by coating on glass substrates with coating materials with different wettability.
