Abstract
We report two cases of so called “Benign Clear Cell Tumor” of the lung and review the English and Japanese literature on the subject. The cases consisted of a 57-year-old male and 15-year-old female whose benign clear cell tumors of the lung were detected by routine physical examination and surgically removed. These tumors were histopathologically very similar to renal cell carcinoma and the primary origins of these tumors were examined in detail, with particular attention to the kidney, however we were unable to identify and original site in the kidney. The histological origin of these tumors is not known, but these tumors have epithelial characteristics. We believe these tumors probably originated from bronchial glandular tissues.
