Abstract
Knitted Dacron bifurcation grafts were implanted in 23 cases of abdominal aortic aneurysms. Postoperative CT examination of these patients were performed at one month and annually. Sauvage Bionit II was implanted in 9 cases (mean follow up was 47 months) and Hemashield Microvel Double Velour was implanted in 14 cases (mean follow up was 12 months). The maximum percent dilatation of Sauvage graft was 36% and mean dilatation was 6.9% at one month, 9.3% at one year, 20.1% at 2 year, 21.0% at 3 year and 22.5% at 4 year. On the other hand mean dilatation of Hemashield graft was 24.0% at a month and 25.8% at a year and maximum percent dilatation was 38%. Dilatation value of Hemashield graft was significantly higher compare with Sauvage graft at a month after implantation (p<0.01). Our results suggests that intensive follow up is necessary in the patient with Hemashield graft implant.
