Abstract
The terahertz (THz) range with a frequency of about 0.1 to 10 THz is expected to have various applications and is being actively studied. It is also expected to be used in next-generation systems following 5G in communications. A compact solid THz light source is an important device for these applications. Here, we report on our resonant-tunneling-diode THz source, including the device structure and oscillation characteristics, basic experiments on high-capacity wireless communication, radar, and 3D imaging.
