Abstract
We report a 71 years old male with chronic hepatitis C (HCV) who was treated with interferon and ribavirin therapy and achieved sustained virological response (SVR) 10 years ago. Ten years later, a hyper vascular tumor was detected as 8 mm diameter with MRI which performed surveillance of hepatocellular carcinoma. Although tumor markers were negative, there were increase of peripheral eosinophil and levels of IgE. Since eosinophil infiltration was pathologically confirmed by tumor biopsy, and increase in titer of toxocara antibody identified serologically, this nodule was diagnosed toxocara. While this nodule was spontaneous disappeared, re-emergent in another part of the liver. We treated with albendazole, and recurrence of toxocara was not observed 16 month after treatment.
