Abstract
With scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and noncontact atomic force microscopy (ncAFM) at 5 K, we induced dehydrogenation of hydrocarbon molecules on a Cu surface by approaching a Cu tip. Density functional theory (DFT) revealed the reaction mechanism.
