Abstract
In this study, we investigated the structural changes of neutron-irradiated highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) under room-temperature compression and decompression using in-situ X-ray diffraction technique. It was found that the graphite G(002) peaks of the neutron-irradiated HOPG were broader than those of the un-irradiated HOPG. These results are due to the introduction of defects by neutron irradiation. Moreover, the G(002) peaks were deconvoluted into two Lorentzian peaks with a least-squares algorithm. The details of structural changes of neutron-irradiated HOPG will be discussed in the conference.
