Case 1 : A 54-year-old Japanese male noticed a reddish tumor on his right buttock one year ago. His right inguinal lymph nodes were enlarged, and metastatic lesions in the lung and multiple lymph nodes were noted by FDG-PET. We diagnosed the case as eccrine porocarcinoma. We performed wide tumor resection and radical groin resection. After the operation, chemotherapy and radiation therapy were given, but he died of respiratory failure due to pulmonary metastases.Case 2 : A 47-year-old Japanese male noticed a reddish tumor on his left lower leg a few years ago. We diagnosed the case as eccrine porocarcinoma. We performed wide tumor resection, radical groin and pelvic lymph node resection. After the operation, chemotherapy and radiation therapy were given, but he died of respiratory failure due to pulmonary metastases.It is interesting to note that a marked increase in serum CYFRA was seen along with tumor progression in both cases. Because immunohistochemical findings showed that the tumor cells of both cases were strongly positive for CK19, the fragments of CK19 in the tumor cells flowed out into the blood circulation. Taken together, we considered that serum level of CYFRA reflected the condition of eccrine porocarcinoma.[Skin Cancer (Japan) 2014 ; 29 : 38-42]
