Abstract
Hybrid oncocytoma/Warthin's tumor is a rare benign tumor of salivary gland origin. A 66-year-old male presented with painful and ulcerous gingival swelling on his right mandibular molar that had been present for about 2 months. The clinical diagnosis was a malignant tumor of the gingiva. A histopathological examination of the surgical biopsy specimen revealed squamous cell carcinoma (SCC;Y-K 4C;Grade III). The tumor was surgically excised. Among the eleven surgical specimens obtained, the surgical neck dissection specimen showed two deep cervical lymph nodes containing squamous cell carcinoma metastasis. A hybrid oncocytoma/Warthin's tumor was observed which was not considered to be squamous cell carcinoma metastasis. We herein describe an interesting case of latent hybrid oncocytoma/Warthin's tumor of the periparotid lymph node.
