Abstract
Preparation and solvatochromic behavior of poly(phenazasiline) with alkylammonium salt (P2) was studied. Reaction between alkylamine containing poly(phenazasiline) (P1) and excess amount of alkyl halide gave P1. The quaternized polymer P2 was soluble in DMSO and DMF, but insoluble in benzene and chloroform. The absorption maximum wavelength of P2-Me was shifted shorter when poor solvent was added to the DMSO solution.
