A 75-year-old man with a history of parkinsonism and appendectomy was admitted to our hospital for anemia. He was examined using abdominal computed tomography and colonoscopy and was diagnosed of cecal cancer with abdominal invasion. Preoperative chemotherapy with mFOLFOX6 was planned to reduce the tumor and the deficiency area of the abdominal wall. Laparoscopy-assisted ileocecal resection and abdominal wall reconstruction was performed for the defect using the right tensor fascia lata muscle flap, after 4 courses of chemotherapy. The patientʼs postoperative course was uneventful. Laparoscopy-assisted surgery is an effective treatment for the reconstruction of the abdominal wall, following invasive surgery for colon cancer.
