Faced with the neoliberal claim to hand over all property and all production (even in the field of science) to private interests, socialism finds itself shaken to the point where it is inclined to fall back on a « republican » line, relinquishing the site of « property » for that of a « status » guaranteeing to each the conditions of his or her material non-dependency. The very radicalness of the propertarian mutation requires that we reconsider the concept of property within the context of « ultramodernity », and that we envisage a redeployment of communism.
