Abstract
HLA class I antigens were determined for 959 unrelated Uruguayans. The predominant HLA alíeles were A2, Cw4, and B35, and the most frequently observed two-loci haplotypes were A2-B44 and B35-Cw4. The most frequent three-loci HLA haplotype was A2-Cw5-B44. We compared the Uruguayan sample with similar data from other populations.
