Abstract
I’m presenting here some important traces left in me by Professor Gangoiti’s during the 1984/1985 and 1985/1986 school years. After an introduction, I develop his understanding of the nature of Book I of the Code (I) and his key concepts about the introductory canons of Book I (II). I then state his simple way of explaining what he called «the laws on laws» and their fundamental concepts, starting by the nature and constitutive elements of the law (III). This is followed by two issues dedicated to the laws which regulate the general administrative norms (the «general executive» decrees and the «instructions») and the particular administrative acts (the «singular decrees» and the «singular precepts»), always starting with their nature and their constitutive elements, before presenting the legal structure and the functioning of all these canonical institutes, as Professor Gangoiti did. (IV and V). Whenever possible, I present the graphic images to which our dear Professor had so much recourse, in order to make accessible the most difficult concepts even to those who were just beginning their canonical studies. Finally, in the conclusion, I show how our Professor, who always started from the philosophical and theological concepts that support the norms, pulled off to arrive with simplicity to their practical sense, in order to apply them.
