Abstract
A meta-analysis of the prevalence of symptoms before an initial or recurrent mood episode of bipolar disorder is presented. The results indicate that the initial prodromal period long enough. The results also suggest the feasibility of early identification and intervention programs because the initial prodromal period is typified by symptoms of subsequent mood episode.
