Abstract
A systematic review and meta-analysis of 17 clinical trials showed no support for the public's positive perception of coconut oil. Compared with other vegetable oils, coconut oil contributes to the rise of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels. Furthermore, coconut oil offers no improvements to weight, blood glucose or inflammation markers.
