Abstract
This new phono cartridge by Sony is lighter in weight (three grams with bracket) than most others. It is also less expensive ($60) than any others seen to date. Tracking force is between one and two grams, and the frequency response is from ten to 30,000 Hz. Details of laboratory measurement are given besides a special section on comparing the moving-coil versus the moving-magnet cartridge. Some tracking distortion in the tests is said not to be a problem in real playing situations.
