Abstract
A study was conducted to evaluate and compare referral to an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) center and mortality among patients with severe 2009 influenza (H1N1) against those that were not referred to such centers. Results indicated that in the case of such patients referred to ECMOs, mortality was lower as compared to those patients not referred to ECMOs.
