Abstract
A study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of high, low and normal protein diets on weight gain, energy expenditure, and body composition during overeating. Results indicated that in the case of people living within a controlled setting, calories alone were found to be responsible for weight gain; however, protein affected energy expenditure and lean body mass but not body composition during overeating.
