Abstract
Niobium(V) fluoro and oxofluoro complexes formed in LiF-NaF-KF melts as a function of the oxide content were characterized by means of Raman and infrared spectroscopy. A method for recording infrared spectra of corrosive melts involving a diamond window cell is described. It has been shown that K2NbF7 can be used as an indicator to determine the oxide content of the sample melts.
