Abstract
The cancer patient is confronted with feelings of physical distress that are enclosed in a more global identity crisis. During psychological care for the patients, sophrology is proposed as an access to internal resources that can allow facing the illness. As a means of relation with the maltreated body from cancer, this method can help to rediscover a soothed body but also accompany the physical transformations induced by medical treatment. The illustration of Mrs M. reveals indeed the course of this access to a soothed body that facilitated the emergence of speech and of the patient's internal resources.
