Abstract
Molecular modeling studies and structure-activity relations enable the structure-based design of a series of chiral, low molecular weight and potent nonpeptide HIV PR inhibitors. These inhibitors have a structural scaffold relating to other peptidomimetics. Conformational stability and replacement of water molecules in the active site explain the potential of these compounds.
