Experimental results verified that the magnetic enhancement due to different soft magnetic films onto both types of PrFeB ribbons followed the same sequence of Fe.sub.65Co.sub.35 FeCo. When [approximately equal to]185nm Fe.sub.65Co.sub.35 were sputtered onto Pr.sub.9.5Fe.sub.80.5B.sub.10 or Pr.sub.10Fe.sub.84.12B.sub.5.88 ribbons, the magnetic energy product, (BH).sub.max, of the laminated materials enhanced by 21.5-22.6% in comparison with that of the original ribbons.
