Abstract
The fractionation of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) is investigated. MWNT were purified and size-separated via a multistep microfiltration method which uses membranes of varying pore sizes. Analysis of membrane surface and permeate suspension deposits using scanning electron and atomic force microscopy showed that the samples were separated during the filtration. The fractionation of the MWNT by length was also verified.
