Abstract
Because today's economic, social, political and technical environment is so complex and changes so rapidly, it is necessary for companies to develop long range strategic plans. The manager who is also a planner, will continually evaluate the office environment to assess potential problems and needs before they occur. A strategic planner needs to set clear, specific goals. The first step is to prepare a simple written document or more elaborate presentation to propose an idea. Once this proposal is given the go ahead, work can then begin on the plan itself.
