Abstract
Microsoft's Multi-Word Tool (MTW) and its mouse will be available in the United Kingdom in August 1983 for 275 pounds. To fully use the on-screen formatting capabilities, an IBM color-graphics adapter and screen are necessary. MTW can be used without the mouse. Interesting features include menus arranged alphabetically and menus within menus, format-as-you-go procedures, eight windows available at one time (but hit-or-miss vertical scrolling), style sheet storage including fonts and faces and twenty-eight pre-defined formats, support and display for various fonts and faces, a glossary buffer, and an undo command that will reverse anything one has just done. No printer on the market (except a laser printer) has facilities for all of MTW's fonts and faces.
