Abstract
Receptor kinase activity is affected by the complete C-terminus seen in the insulin receptor beta-subunit. The area between the kinase region and the C-terminal region exhibits bidirectional interplay which depends on structural modifications. The three kinase area tyrosine sites are subjected to phosphorylation, which does not influence the structural modification in the C-terminal, to induce receptor activity. The enzyme activity is alternately encouraged or prevented by the changes in the receptor kinase caused by disturbances in the C-terminal area.
