Abstract
A complex formation of tetrakis(4-n-methlypyridyl)porphyrin (TMPyP) with double stranded DNAs and T and phage nucleoprotein complex is presented. It shows that transition metals significantly decrease the binding sites for intercatation in both DNA and nucleoprotein complex, but facilitate the groove-binding of TMPyP to isolated DNA.
