Abstract
Orthopedic nurses believe that the study of pain, patient complications, and staffing issues are important research priorities for their profession. Researchers surveyed 53 orthopedic nurses and nurse researchers to determine their priorities for future study areas. In a series of consensus development surveys, the nurses identified pain management, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, staff mix, and length-of-stay as important priorities for additional research.
