Abstract
Issues concerning the theory and methodology of demographic studies since World War II, regarding populations and fertility, are examined, focusing on reviewing research developments and analytic concerns. Topics include the development of demographic transition theory, studying population growth in developing countries, fertility transition models, and important issues outside of transition theory.
