Especially in recent decades the concept of 'ecosystem service' has become established, due to its ability to summarize the multiplicity of values and functions performed by the presence of natural elements within an urban context. Urban green infrastructures, in fact, provide for a variety of functions (material and energy supply, regulations, as well as cultural and spiritual functions. However, beyond its most recent formulations, the concept of urban green has an established history. By implementing green spaces in the city, it has always sought to obtain a series of documented environmental benefits, as well as positive impacts on the health and quality of life of the inhabitants. The considerations of this paper are set in this framework of investigation, considering the urban resilience targets, within which the landscape has replaced architecture as a basic structure of urbanism (Waldheim, 2006). Negli ultimi decenni, e andato affermandosi il concetto di 'servizio ecosistemico' per la sua capacita di riassumere la molteplicita di valori e di funzioni espletate dalla presenza di elementi naturali all'interno di un contesto urbano. Le infrastrutture verdi urbane provvedono, infatti, ad una molteplicita di funzioni (di approvvigionamento di materia e energia, di regolazione, nonche funzioni culturali e spirituali). Tuttavia, al di la delle sue formulazioni piu recenti, il concetto di verde urbano ha una storia ben consolidata. Mediante l'implementazione di spazi verdi in citta, si e sempre ricercato di ottenere una serie di documentati vantaggi ambientali, per la salute e la qualita della vita degli abitanti. Le considerazioni del presente scritto si posizionano in questo quadro d'indagine, in considerazione degli obiettivi di resilienza urbana, all'interno dei quali il paesaggio ha sostituito l'architettura come struttura base dell'urbanistica (Waldheim, 2006).
