Abstract
Neuropeptide Y and peptide YY (PYY) have an antilipolytic impact, as displayed in human adipocytes. In the three human adipose deposits studied, alpha-2-adrenergic sites and PYY receptors were predominantly observed in femoral fat cells. Pericolonic adipocytes were consituted chiefly of adenosine A and beta-adrenergic receptors. Rare lipolysis-inhibitory effects of PYY were noted in certain adipocytes. Correlations were observed between alpha-2-site-and PYY-occurrence and their antipolytic activity.
