Abstract
Studies on the role of restraint stress on the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis and stress ulcer in Wistar-Kyoto (WKY) and Fisher-344 rats suggests that impaired glucocorticoid negative feedback affect HPA function. The WKY rat stress response is associated with enhanced long drawn out changes on peripheral functions that are controlled by glucocorticoids.
