Abstract
The Parisian collection curieuses which is defined in a framework, inspired by Pierre Bourdieu's work on cultural field and called 'field of curiosite' with its certain habitus, its showplaces, its heroes and the character played, its competitive dynamics and its values are reviewed. The setting of collection of curieuses proved to be a prestigious practice in the eighteenth century and was practiced by aristocrats who presented them to and for their equals in a sophisticated manner.
