Abstract
A new assay measuring the dimerization of epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor is described. The assay relies on the presence of a ligand that will induce the formation of receptor dimers. These dimers are then immobilized on the wells through the use of antibodies. The ability of various member of the EGF family to promote dimerization of the receptors was investigated using various mutants and modifications of native molecules.
