Abstract
It can be argued that the liminal nature of flexible sociality is changing Seoul, South Korea, into a postmodern city characterized by instability and an uncertain identity. Flexible sociality in Seoul has its origins in a hybrid urban social formation that is made up of sociocultural codes of various periods. There is an unstable combination of Korean traditional and customary values and non-Korean ones.
