Abstract
A study was conducted to examine the co-relation between self-efficacy and motivation in ice hockey and basketball players and swimmers. Three separate surveys were conducted amongst male and female athletes with low, medium and high skills. The results contradicted the assumption that low efficacy results in low motivation. It found that swimmers with high efficacy were less motivated as were basketball players. Overall, however, no significant co-relation was found between motivation and self-efficacy.
