Abstract
A study of the rearrangement of vinyl oxiranes to 2,5-dihydrofurans was conducted using a catalyst without any additives, and vinyl oxirane 5 was chosen for this purpose. A method was developed for the use of copper (II) complexes to catalyze the rearrangement of vinyl oxiranes to 2,5-dihydrofuranes, using low catalyst loadings, with good tolerance of substitution patterns, in the absence of solvent.
