Abstract
A study of alpha 1-adrenoceptor inhibition and angiotensin-converting enzyme effects on the intrarenal hemodynamics of spontaneous hypertensive rats (SHRs) reveals that adrenergic in SHR is less effective than sustained renopressor system inhibition. A specific alpha(sub 1)-adrenergic receptor antagonist lowers the resistance in SHR arterioles. Micropuncture techniques are used to analyze SHR intrarenal hemodynamics.
