Abstract
Racemization is used in X-ray studies of oligonucleotides to establish the three-dimensional structure of a racemic duplex consisting of unnatural right-handed and natural left-handed Z-forms. Chemically prepared L-d(CGCGCG) is co-crystallized with an equimolar D-enantiomer. A pair of symmetry-related duplexes per unit cell is contained in the crystal.
