Abstract
Results reveal that the alpha module of the self-recognizing outer membrane protein of Escherichia coli, antigen 43, can accommodate and display correctly folded proteins containing entire functional domains in gram-negativve baceria including Salmonella strains. Implications of the research for vaccine development is discussed.
