Abstract
A four-intermediate set is transformed to a set of native conformers through four parallel channel during the folding of dihydrofolate reductase from Escherichia coli. The inhibitor, methotrexate, promotes refolding and two slow reactions occur through two parallel channels. This suggests that four parallel channels disintegrate to form only two parallel channel in the mutant.
