Reduction of trace element concentrations in alkaline waste porewaters by dedolomitization

Abstract
Reducing the concentrations of undesirable elements in leachate waters by adding dolomite to alkaline waste materials is discussed. Selenium, boron and astatine were entrained to evaluate the potential of calcite precipitation. Results indicate that porewater concentrations of boron and selenium may be decreased by adding dolomite to lime-rich waste material.
