Abstract
The aft one-third of a 76-degree swept delta wing was modified to obtain cropped, diamond, double-delta and standard delta wing shapes. Dye flow visualization was used to test each's vortex breakdown location during dynamic pitch-up and pitch-down motion. Results show that the double-delta wing had the least vortex breakdown resistance and the cropped delta wing had the longest unburst leading-edge vortex during pitching.
