Abstract
It appears that 2-benzamidoethyl, omega-(thionobenzoylamino)alkyl and 2-(N-phenylthiocarbamoylamino)ethyl groups are a novel, versatile type of protecting groups for phosphodiester functions. Research in this area has described a general strategy for protection of internucleosidic phosphodiester groups.
