Abstract
Changes in cell surface area in identified neurons were studied using marine mollusk Aplaysia californica. Two groups of specimens were studied under similar mariculture conditions but at different temperatures. Amplitude of the early potassium current (IA) were measured during imposed acute temperature changes. An increase in the IA amplitude and membrane surface area among the cold-reared speciments were noted with a similar increase in A channels. A slight change in the steady state voltage dependency of activation was also noted.
