Abstract
In this article, the co-columnists explore research that showcases how students can build skills, gain confidence, and learn more about themselves as learners when encouraged to take on leadership roles. Student voice is featured to provide perspective on the impact and relevance of these opportunities. The article also includes perspectives from several choral educators from across the country who highlight numerous powerful student learning opportunities, share how they were created, and what the students are learning through these important roles. Dans cet article, les auteurs presentent des recherches ayant montre que les eleves encourages a jouer un role de leader sont plus a meme d'acquerir des competences, de gagner en confiance et d'apprendre a se connaitre comme apprenants. Ils exposent d'abord le point de vue d'eleves sur les retombees et la pertinence de telles occasions, et ensuite celui de plusieurs enseignants de chant choral au pays. Ces derniers ont fourni de nombreux exemples d'occasions d'apprentissage significatives, puis ont decrit la facon dont elles ont ete creees et ce que les eleves ont appris en assumant des roles d'une telle importance.
