Abstract
The crystalline geometry of the beta-(Cu(HCOO)2) phase is analyzed by accessing solitary crystals of beta-(Cu(HCOO)2). Conversion of the beta phase into the alpha phase at room temperature is revealed along with the metaconstancy of the beta phase. A basically distortional mode for the phase conversion is derived from the conformational association between the geometries of the two polymorphs. The two compounds reveal the presence of 3d magnetic phase transitions by the magnetically modulated microwave absorption method, which is similar to that obtained by magnetic calculation.
