Abstract
Research has been conducted on the RNA polymerases. The effect of the histone-like proteins HU present in Escherichia coli cells on the RNA polymerase activity has been investigated and the results demonstrate that these proteins do not impair RNA activity but influence mRNA stability in vivo.
