Abstract
A cancelled marriage contract in Greek, part of the Babatha Archives, explains the practices regarding Jewish marriages during 130 CE and confirms the identity of Jewish marriage contracts distinct from Aramaic Ketubba. Some of the marriage practices included giving away of the bride by the mother, setting clauses on the wife's maintenance, liability clauses regarding the husband's property, and provisions for children. A transcription of a fragment of the original document is also given.
